Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers and a leading cause of disability, with one in six people having a stroke in their lifetime. This public talk will focus on the work that is being done in stroke research at Menzies, as well as providing a clinical perpective on what happens when a person has a stroke.

Dr Seana Gall, Senior Research Fellow, Menzies, will give an overview of prognosis based on her research in Australia and overseas. She will speak briefly about secondary prevention.

Dr Michele Callisaya, Senior Research Fellow, Menzies, will speak on combining science, art and technology to improve rehabilitation after stroke
