Bone Marrow Transplantation with Haematopoietic Stem Cells After Prolonged Cryopreservation

Traditionally BMT is carried out with blood stem cells collected immediately before their use (reinfusion into the patients). We have found advantages and safety in collected stem cells as 'insurance' and cryopreserving them long before their use. We have successfully carried out BMT using cells harvested up to nine years previously.
