| Description | Open Day is one of the most exciting occasions on the University of Tasmania calendar. It’s our chance to open our campuses to the community, and showcase the unique lifestyle and quality study opportunities we offer. At Open Day you will have the chance to explore the Medical Science Precinct and hear what University life is like from the experts: our students, staff, and graduates. There will be lots of information on study options, scholarships, pathways, and careers. There will also be a range of family-friendly activities and informative presentations and demonstrations. For example, join Tassie devil researcher Dr Andy Flies from Menzies to find out how glow-in-the-dark proteins are helping the Devils. Andy will be demonstrating the use of fluorescent proteins to light up our view of the immune system and cancer. In this hands-on activity, Andy will show how these proteins are being used to develop a vaccine for the Tasmanian Devil facial tumour disease. Medical Science Precinct 17 Liverpool St Hobart |
